Background

Brandon’s background in games started way back when he was a kid always playing at the local arcade, PC games like doom and half-life and he has been playing games ever since. He has a strong passion for both playing and creating video games. He came from an architecture background, and then became interested in renderings and now lives and breathes creating 3D environments for video games.

 

Brandon is a 3D Environment Artist that specializes in modeling and texturing of game environments and world building. He is currently an Environment Artist at Gamma Prime working on a game called Cold Comfort. He has worked previously as an artist at Nascent Games, Pixlhut, Pluralsight/ Digital Tutors, and various other studios.  He also volunteers at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Brandon has worked on video tutorials online, game organizations, mentorships, and has released professional video tutorials with Digital Tutors.

He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Animation and Game Design (DAGD) at Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Brandon was born and raised in Clinton Township, MI, USA.

Gamma Prime
Jan. 2018 – Current
3D Environment Artist

  • My work included creating props and environments working on the game called Cold Comfort, a post-apocalyptic zombie horror survival game.
  • Created 3D models and textures from concept art to in-game in Unreal Engine 4. With the Gamma Prime team of about 25 people were in progress of making the game. The game is a competitive 5v5 PvP horror survival game that is set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. You can play as either a Survivor or Gamma Prime.

  • Working with the team on a car configurator VR project using the HTC Vive and Unreal Engine 4
  • My responsibilities were to manage and oversee the 3D assets including the models, textures, and 2D images for a car configurator in the Unreal Engine.
  • Created options and buttons and setup the HTC Vive settings for the VR experience.
  • Built the features and developed the actions of the user using Blueprints in Unreal.
